Desire2Learn (D2L)

This course management system (CMS) is used to deliver your online courses. You can access your online course site(s) through D2L the week before classes begin. Students are required to use their UW College email in D2L. Your UW Colleges email account is the default email setting in D2L. You cannot change this configuration.

If you experience technical difficulty in your course, please use the information below to contact technical support via phone or email. Sending requests for technical help to your instructor may only delay your solution. Likewise, technical support staff cannot answer questions about the content of your course, so please contact your instructor with content-related questions.

D2L SYSTEM CHECK

You will access your course in D2L though a web browser. If you are working from home, perform a system check before logging into D2L. The system check will help you optimize your home computer settings for D2L. To conduct this test:

1. Go to the D2L login page by clicking on the "Desire2Learn" link located on the top of this page.
2. On the D2L "Welcome" page, click on the "system check" link.

D2L ACCESS

To access your online course from the UW Colleges Online website:

1. Click on the "Desire2Learn" link (see above).
2. The "Desire2Learn Login/Welcome" page will appear. On this page, enter your account information and then click on the "Login" button.
3. Once you are in D2L, select your online course under "My UWC Courses."

Your instructor expects that you have reviewed the course site ahead of time and that you will be ready to begin course content on the first day of classes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. When can I begin logging into D2L?
   
   Students can access their course through D2L one week before classes begin.

2. Where do I login to D2L?
   
   Students login to their online course via the Internet at https://uwc.courses.wisconsin.edu/
   

3. What is my username and password?
   
   Your D2L login username name and password was mailed and emailed to you two weeks before courses began. Students can login to D2L the week before the official first day of class.

4. I forgot my username and password. How can I get it?
   
   Obtain your username and initial password from the University of Wisconsin Colleges Student Account Management System at https://www.uwc.edu/account.

5. I can send email in D2L, but how do I receive email?
   
   Students can only send email to their instructor and classmates in D2L. You may access incoming email from your UWC email account.
