The first thing to check is whether your current computer meets the minimum technology requirements for UW Colleges Online courses.
Next, online courses require self-discipline and self-motivation. In addition to possessing basic computer skills, successful online students need good time-management skills, and a certain level of independence. Expect to spend an average of 3 to 4 hours per week per credit on each fall or spring semester course and 5 to 8 hours per week per credit on each summer course.
Uncertain about whether you fit the profile of a successful online student? This short online self-test may help you to decide if online courses are right for you.
While we can't give you access to a live course, we can give you access to our Desire2Learn Demonstration site. This site will allow you to become familiar with some of the technologies used in UW Colleges Online courses and see how course content is organized.
