I decided to go back to school when I turned 30. I had never taken a college class before, and was intimidated about the classroom environment. I was also moving around Wisconsin, a new town every year or so, due to my fiancés job. I was concerned about when and where I would be moving again. What would happen if we were transferred while I was in the middle of a semester on campus? It was getting harder and harder to find a good job with only a high school diploma. I knew that I had to get back into school. Then I found UWC Online. It has allowed me to work full time and get an education, and still have a life outside of the academic and professional world. I was even able to plan my out of state wedding and get married during this last semester.

I had such an amazing experience with UW Colleges. I had started at the UWC in West Bend, but after my second semester of school I moved to West Virginia. I wanted to continue my education so I decided to try UWC Online. I have three young children and online classes ended up being a great fit into my lifestyle. The Professors were so great and made the whole process a wonderful and positive experience.

It provided greater flexibility than a classroom setting but also adhered to a strict schedule unlike correspondence courses. In addition, there was also the added bonus of 100% course transferability to another Wisconsin college.

My experience with online courses was very positive. Courses were similar to those taken face-to-face, but allowed me to remain home with my young daughter. I was able to complete course work when it was convenient for me and work ahead on assignments to ensure I was able to finish on time.

I have been taking online courses at University of Wisconsin since 2003. My online experience has been wonderful. Taking online classes allowed furthering my education, while being at home. I have four kids and I work full time, and staying home to study saved me from finding a babysitter to attend night classes. Online classes do takes discipline and a lot of studying because there is not that face-to-face contact with a professor. A plus of online classes is you know when all of the assignments are due because you are given a syllabus. This is why I am continuing my education at Upper Iowa University Online program. I plan on perusing a bachelors degree in accounting. Once I receive my degree, I am thinking about going for a CPA certification, but I will decide that later.

I hope to finish my BA degree program because it is a long-time goal that has been put off due to motherhood responsibilities. I would like to actually open my own business in the near future and I hope to utilize all of the acquired knowledge and skills from my life's journey to succeed in that business. Furthermore, I think regardless of where my life story has taken me, finishing my formal education and pursuing my professional degree after so much time off is a good example for my daughter.

I chose to take online courses because of the flexibility the program offered. I am a stay-at-home mom and this option allowed me to continue participating full-time in my daughter's upbringing, while pursuing and reaching my educational goals. This experience has been wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone who has yet to accomplish their educational goals, but cannot fit on-campus education in their lifestyle.

When I lived in Wisconsin I attended UW-Fox valley. When I moved to Oregon I was pleased to find that I could complete my associate degree through UW-online. The quality of the instruction I received through UW-online rivaled and even at times surpassed the instruction I had received in a traditional classroom setting.

I thoroughly enjoyed the program. As a working father of two boys, and as someone ten years out of school, the UWC online program was an excellent re-introduction to college, offering flexibility and convenience without diminishing the educational experience. I think the fact that I am relatively self-motivated and independent to begin with made this program the perfect fit for me overall., and these qualities are key to getting the most out of programs like this. I found myself consistently engaged and interested throughout my tenure in the program, while my intellectual curiosity, especially in the social sciences, was revitalized.
