Some Online courses require the use of a Proctor for exams. Students are responsible for finding their own proctor and submitting a proctor form by the end of the first week of classes.
There are two options for arranging a proctor for the course exams. The option that applies to you depends on whether you intend to write your exams at one of the UW Colleges' campuses with an IT Support person as your proctor, or whether you intend to have someone other than an on-campus IT Support person proctor you exams.
If you are a student with a disability and have an approved Individualized Accommodation Plan indicating that you need a reader for tests, you will need to find a proctor who is also willing to read your exams to you. In addition to submitting your proctor form, please send an email to the UW Colleges Online Proctor mailbox confirming that your proctor is also a reader. We will then provide your proctor with the necessary Reader Expectations for Examinations and Quizzes information. Only students with reader services recommended on UW Colleges approved Individualized Accommodation Plans are eligible for this accommodation service. We will provide your proctor with the Reader Expectations for Examinations and Quizzes.
It is ESSENTIAL that you submit all your proctor information NO LATER than the end of the first full week in the semester!
If you have any questions about proctored exams contact the Office of Distance Education. You can send an e-mail to the UW Colleges Online Proctor mailbox with your questions.
