Scholarships

Scholarships are monetary gifts from community, private and campus sources – typically based on academic merit or some other criteria. Because some scholarships require verification of financial need, you are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Shirley Hensch Memorial Scholarship

Named for Shirley Hensch, a long-standing professor within the University of Wisconsin System and UW Colleges Online, the Shirley Hensch Memorial Scholarship has supported online students since 2013. Originally named the e-Scholarship, Shirley Hensch created the scholarship to help students who were full-time, degree-seeking students taking courses entirely online. Scholarships worth $100 will be given to eligible students who apply. 

Requirements

Students must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in the UW Colleges Online Associate of Arts and Science degree program
  • Not currently enrolled in an on-campus degree program
  • Successfully completed at least one online class through UW Colleges Online
  • Currently in good academic standing (GPA of at least 2.0)
  • Planning to enroll in online courses for the upcoming academic year
