Registration for the Regular Academic Session is from Wednesday, November 11, 2009 to Thursday, January 07, 2010. No late online registrations will be accepted.
If you are applying as a degree-seeking student, you are encouraged to apply as early as possible to allow adequate time for admissions and financial aid processing to occur (the application/financial aid process can take several weeks).
Students who apply after December 15th may still have time for admission and registration to process, however financial aid will most likely not be processed for students who are admitted close to the close of registration.
Your application must be submitted by Tuesday, January 5th. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
Keep these dates in mind when applying for admission, the processing of financial aid, posting of any mail in payments, etc. Classes may close during these days, so we recommend you have your enrollment fully completed prior to December 24th.
Online courses may be formally dropped during the first 10 weeks of a fall or spring semester-long course or during the first five weeks of a summer eight-week course. (Please note: if you wish to drop all of your UW Colleges course work, read the information regarding Withdrawal below).
If you wish to drop a UW Colleges Online course or withdraw completely, you need to drop where you registered.
You cannot drop a course after the first 10 weeks of a semester (or after a proportionate time for a shorter session). If you leave a course after the deadline date, your instructor must assign a grade other than "W" to your academic record.
Withdrawal means terminating your registration in all courses for the semester. You must complete the process no later than the 10th week of classes in any semester, or a proportionate time for a shorter session. If you do not withdraw, you will receive grades in all courses for which you are registered. Non-attendance does not constitute official withdrawal.
If a course is dropped within the first two weeks of class (first week in an 8 week session), there is no indication of that drop on the academic record. If a course is dropped after the second week of classes but within the first 10 weeks, or a proportionate time for a shorter session, the drop is indicated by a "W" on the official academic record.
Online Administrative Withdrawal
UW Colleges has a universal administrative No Show Policy enforced in all campus face-to-face classes and in all UW Colleges Online classes.
In lieu of physical time/place attendance, UW Colleges Online instructors have been asked to specifically designate one activity or assignment as "proof of participation" in each course for purposes of enforcing this policy in the totally online environment.
Failure to complete the specifically designated assignment by the posted date will result in an administrative withdrawal, unless the student has made prior arrangements with the instructor and the instructor has notified the UWC Online Administrative Office.
For specific refund or drop dates each semester, refer to the Academic Calendar.
For the fall and spring semesters, refunds are normally processed the Tuesday after the end of the 100% refund period. For the summer session, refunds are not processed until mid-July.
The $60 administrative fee for Online courses is non-refundable after Online registration is closed.
