Veterans & Armed Services Information

The University of Wisconsin Colleges is fully approved for the certification of educational benefits for veterans and veterans' dependents under both federal and state veterans administration programs.

Federal Benefits

The United States Department of Veteran Affairs provides information regarding Veteran Affairs Federal benefits, including Montgomery G.I. Bill Chapters 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 1606, and 1067.

DANTES (Defense Activity for Non Traditional Education Support) programs include Troops-To-Teachers, the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC).

The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs provides a County Veterans Service Office (CSVO) list with information regarding your nearest office. UW Colleges Online is funded on a self-supporting basis without state support. WI GI Bill eligible students enrolled in UW Colleges Online courses are responsible for the difference between the cost of regular tuition and fees.

WI GI Bill benefits will cover a portion of the tuition due, but are not sufficient to cover the full amount or secure your seats.

  • For Summer 2009, WI GI Bill benefits will cover $177.83 per credit
  • UW Colleges Online Summer 2009 tuition is $205 per credit plus a $60 administrative fee per course. Students will need to pay the difference to secure their enrollment
