The University of Wisconsin is dedicated to bringing a high-quality UW System education to all types of students—including returning students, UW campus students, high school students, and active service members—so that they can achieve their life and career goals.

From its inception in 1998 UW Colleges Online has offered more than 125 college courses. To align with the new UW System restructuring and better serve our students, UW Colleges Online will become UW College Courses Online in Fall of 2019—offering the same accredited courses, flexible schedule options, transferability and UW faculty as before.

Online classes are taught by the same UW faculty who teach in the UW campus classrooms. They utilize the same learning materials and have adapted and enhanced their courses to the interactive online environment with the assistance of professional instructional designers. UW College Courses Online offers students the opportunity to complete requirements for their degree programs, take individual classes to satisfy continuing education requirements, satisfy prerequisites in preparation for graduate studies, or take classes for personal enrichment.

UW College Courses Online prepares students for success, providing a liberal arts general education that is accessible and affordable. We also advance the Wisconsin Idea by bringing the resources of the University to the people of the state, as well as the communities that support our campuses.
